La ciudad de Nueva York con más de 8 millones de habitantes, es la ciudad más densa de los Estados Unidos de América. Es uno de los principales centros mundiales de comercio y finanzas. Sede central de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, la ciudad se convierte en un punto importante de las relaciones internacionales.

La ciudad se compone de 5 comunas: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens y Staten Island. En Nueva York podemos encontrar edificios de los más altos del mundo, entre los que se encuentran el edificio Empire State Building y las torres gemelas del World Trade Center, derribadas en los atentados del 11 de septiembre de 2001.
